Summer in Review

Well the end of the summer is fast approaching and school is not too far away. Friendships have changed; more have moved away and some, although in town, are even farther away. Everyone has some stories to share about the summers they had, either good or bad; and everyone is looking forward to the next year with varying degrees of anticipation and hesitation.

This summer, for me, was one of long days, b!tchy bosses, cute kids, beautiful horses and great friends. Mel and I were able to catch up and really connect on a level that we had not the chance before. Unfortunately she has left us for the frozen north of Lakehead, but I know she will return at some point and I am extreamly greatful for the times we were able to share. (Fishy on Drugs!!!! lol) Jane was an interesting person to work for; definately not an easy one. Luckily we were able to clear our communication lines and actually know what each other was looking for, and by the end of the summer I was able to show her were my strengths lie. I do not think that I would return to Shady Lawn Ranch under her care, but I learned a great many things, about myself, those I worked with, and also how not to treat those working under you. On a happier note though, I was blessed to met and get to know two amazing women, Kelly and Kim. Both are great and unique in their own ways and I could not have made it through the summer without them. Thanks ladies!!

I have lots of pictures to share and will set up the best ones on here when I get the time to scan them and then figure out how to get them up here. Hope everyone elses summer was a great time and hope to talk to all of you soon. Love you all and I am so very happy to be home again!!! *smile*

Falling branches

We had an incident again today; this time it included a large branch falling on a group of campers under my watch. No one was seriously hurt (Thank the Goddess!) but two of my girls were scratched a whole bunch and everyone was scared, including me. I know that there was nothing that could have prodicted what happened, nor could I have done anything to prevent it, but I still feel as though I should have done more. I know that that is silly but still...

Other than that camp seems to be going really well. Jane hasn't been too b@tchy this week (which is a relief) and there is only one more week to go. Next week should be fun, as we have 23 campers and no JCs at all. Well, its just one week right? And after that, Ren. Fair and then HOME!!! Part of me just wants to come home and hole myself up in my house, but that isn't going to happen. Oh well. Is there anyone still interested in going to the Anime Fest in TO the last weekend of Aug.??

So what is the most exciting thing people have done this summer??? Mine would definately have to be the X-fest!
